How to order
Ordering cake couldn’t be easier…
- Choose what flavour you’d like.
- Decide how you would like your cake decorated – a simple buttercream? Delicate sugar flowers? An elegant accompaniment to your bridesmaid’s dresses? A crazy mix of all of the above? Trust us… no request is too bizarre!
- Once you’ve made up your mind, get in touch and let us know. If you’re not sure, or just have a special occasion in mind, get in touch anyway… we can always give you some good ideas. You can firstname.lastname@example.org (contact us by email, From the website) or by messaging us on Facebook.
Simple? Yes, but we’re guessing you will have a few other questions:
How much will my cake cost?
Ah, the big question. And to be honest we wish we could tell you! It all depends on what you’re looking for – what size, for how many people, what finish, what kind of decoration etc. We’ve made cakes that cost anything from £35 right up to cakes that cost more than £1000 – so you’ll appreciate it’s kind of hard to give you an estimate until we talk…but we do like to talk, and there’s generally cake served when we do.
How long in advance do I need to place an order?
Generally speaking we need to take orders 2-3 weeks in advance. Sometimes we’re able to turn things around a bit quicker… and we’ll always do our best to help. So even if you need an urgent order let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
What if my order is for my wedding?
Great – we love a good wedding. We know how important your big day is and we’ll work with you to make sure everything is just right. If you’re interested in seeing what we can do for you, get in touch and we’ll set up a consultation: its a good excuse to drink tea – we like tea almost as much as we like cake – and sample some different flavours.
Do get in touch nice and early (12-14 months before the wedding) as we get booked up very quickly-especially for summer weddings and Saturdays.
At your consultation we’ll talk through plans for your wedding – colour schemes, designs and anything else you think is relevant. We can give you costs for creating your cake, delivering it, hiring cake stands and generally making everything as easy as possible for you.
Ok, so you’re called ‘The Little Cupcakery’ but I’m pretty sure I see cakes here too…
Well spotted. We started off just making mini cupcakes but as time went on more and more of our clients also wanted us to make cakes for their special occasions too. So, over the past few years, we’ve made some pretty delicious vintage style cakes for a host of weddings, birthdays, corporate events and, well, just about any gathering that needs cake…and let’s face it, what kind of gathering doesn’t need cake?!
Great – what kind of cakes do you make?
Good question. We specialise in vintage style moist buttercream cakes and fondant tiered cakes with sugar flowers and lovingly crafted details that tie in perfectly with your event. But we’ve also delivered some really beautiful naked cakes and contemporary wafer paper creations that look just stunning – even if we do say ourselves. Our Facebook page and Pinterest boards will give you a good idea about the kind of things that excite us – you might even get a bit of inspiration! Our main priority is making delicious cakes that our clients love, so if you’ve got an idea, let’s talk.
Sounds good. So, what about fondant modelling for kids cakes?
Much as we love seeing the amazing creations that bring a real smile to kid’s faces it’s not really our thing to make them. Occasionally we’ll do it for friends and family and you might see the odd example on our Facebook page but these are very much the exception rather than the rule! However we do know some amazing bakers close to us who just love this kind of thing – so, if we can’t help we’ll happily point you in the right direction.
Do you provide cake stands and delivery?
Absolutely! We have a range of stunning milk glass stands that show off your cake beautifully or if it is a collection of mini cupcakes with a top tier of cake, then our acrylic tiered stand is the perfect choice. Delivery and set up charges are based on distance to your venue from Bangor.
How can I get my hands on them?
Mostly we encourage people to collect their order directly from us – we’re based in Bangor, Northern Ireland. Where this isn’t possible let us know and we’ll give you a price for delivery. If you’re based in Barbados we’re more than happy to deliver (no, really) but can’t guarantee that your order will still look pristine on arrival!
